Why not a free deep-research report?
The same nine-stage method every time: every claim tagged with its evidence, a stop when the idea fails early, and a side-by-side view when you revise it. In English and Arabic, on the web.
I already pay for an assistant. I can open it and let its search and deep-research tools do this.
It is a fair objection, and for some questions it is the right call. This page says what a deep-research report gives you, what it leaves to you, and what we do not claim.
What a deep-research report gives you
Most general assistants now include a deep-research feature in a plan of about $20 a month. It is good at what it does.
Broad
It reads widely across the web and pulls what it finds into one long report.
Cited
It links the pages it used, so you can check them yourself.
Fast
You get the report in one sitting, without doing the searching.
Already paid for
Google AI Pro ($19.99 a month), Claude Pro ($20) and Perplexity Pro ($20) each include a research feature. Prices as published in 2026; they may have changed.
If your question is “what is known about this market?”, that may be all you need. The two also work together: you can attach a research report to an evaluation as a PDF.
What it leaves to you, and what a fixed method does
Venture Vetter uses large language models too. The difference is the method fixed around them. This comparison is argued from how each is built, not from a test.
A deep-research report
A Venture Vetter report
Method · A deep-research report
Plans its research around your prompt. What gets covered depends on what you ask, and there is no fixed rubric unless you write one and reuse it.
Method · A Venture Vetter report
Runs the same nine stages in the same order for every idea and every run, with the same scoring rules. Two ideas, or two versions of one idea, are judged on the same terms.
Score · A deep-research report
If you ask for a score, the number is the model’s own judgement. No fixed rule stands behind it unless you supply one.
Score · A Venture Vetter report
The stages score eight dimensions from 1 to 5. Code then computes the total from fixed, published weights and maps it to a verdict by fixed bands. If the model’s own verdict differs, the computed one stands and we record the difference.
Pushing back · A deep-research report
It is a conversation. You can rephrase, argue and ask again, and the answer can move with you.
Pushing back · A Venture Vetter report
The scoring rules do not change with how the idea is phrased or how you push back. To move the score, change the idea or bring new evidence, and run it again.
Evidence · A deep-research report
Links its sources. A found fact, the model’s own estimate and something you told it are not labelled apart by default.
Evidence · A Venture Vetter report
Every material figure carries one of four tags: sourced, user-provided, estimate or assumption. On the tier we run today, a link stays in the research log only if it was among the search results we retrieved; if no search ran, nothing stays tagged as sourced.
Stopping early · A deep-research report
Writes the report you asked for. It has no built-in point at which it stops because the idea failed a basic test.
Stopping early · A Venture Vetter report
After the first analysis stage there is a gate. If there is no painful problem for a reachable customer, the evaluation stops there: you get the reasons, no score, and it does not count against your monthly allowance.
Versions · A deep-research report
Each run is a new document. Working out what changed between two of them is up to you.
Versions · A Venture Vetter report
Each re-run is saved as a version of the idea. On Plus and Pro, the compare view puts two versions side by side with the change in every dimension.
What we do not claim
No head-to-head test
We have not run Venture Vetter against any assistant’s deep-research feature, so we do not say our research is deeper or our answers more accurate. The case on this page is about method.
Our research is limited
On the model tier we run today, the research stages work from a limited set of web searches. A deep-research run may well read more pages than we do.
The score is an estimate
It is not a prediction that a business will succeed or fail. Each stage score is a language model’s judgement against a written rubric and can vary between runs; what is fixed is the stages, the rules and the arithmetic.
